Hammer union lip seals fit the designated seal pocket in pipe and hose union connections. The union hardware locates and compresses the seal during assembly. A retaining lip helps keep the seal seated during handling; match its profile and dimensions to the exact union manufacturer and drawing.

For oilfield fluid-transfer maintenance, confirm the Figure 1502 union reference, nominal size, fluid composition and temperatures before ordering. The replacement seal has no independent working-pressure rating. The specified compound and complete union assembly must be suitable for the duty; sour-fluid or rapid-decompression service requires specific qualification.

Nominal size references: 1, 1.5, 2, 3 and 4 inches. Confirm actual seal diameters, lip profile and axial height from the mating union drawing.

Material options: NBR (nitrile/Buna-N), HNBR and FKM compounds. PTFE and PU designs require their own specifications; PTFE is not a rubber elastomer.

Construction: rubber-only, rubber with a specified brass backup, or rubber with a specified stainless-steel backup. Confirm the backup profile and bonded or separate arrangement.
